Ducted Refrigerated
What is it?
Ducted Refrigerated Air Conditioning is the most premium form of air conditioning available on the market. It is a heating AND cooling system in one, therefore can be a cost effective system as only one system is installed.
The benefit of ducted refrigeration is that it is effective in all weather conditions. It runs on electricity using inverter technology and is a ‘whole-home’ solution.
1. How does it work?
To heat your home, we simply reverse this process.
2. What are the running costs?
One of our recommended brands for Ducted Refrigerated Air Conditioning is Mitsubishi Electric. For a Mitsubishi Electric PEAD-rp125jaa Series 12KW Ducted Refrigerated System, installed to provide a whole home regular heating & cooling during the winter and summer periods, the annual running cost would be measured at $1,340.05.
Reducing Ducted Refrigerated Air Conditioning Running Costs
It doesn’t take much to reduce your running costs with Ducted Refrigerated. Depending on the model you purchase, and it’s respective star rating will determine how much you can save annually. However looking beyond the initial cost to how you use your Ducted Refrigerated system can help as well.
3. Why choose this system?
Our team can advise you if Ducted Refrigeration Air Conditioning would be suitable to your home.
Inverter Technology
An inverter is energy saving technology that is designed to efficiently control motor speed. In air conditioning, inverter technology is used to adjust changing motor speed without turning the motor on and off, meaning it’s saving energy and money.
Our Recommendation
Our ducted residential heating and cooling systems are completely flexible, and can be customised for any application. We suggest you consider superior brands such as Mitsubishi and Daikin for their energy efficient advanced inverter technology.

*Data is based on: 2016 Victoria Energy Tariff of 32.1 c/kWh, using a Mitsubishi Electric PEAD-rp125jaa Series 12KW Ducted Refrigerated System collected from Sustainability Victoria’s Energy Consumption and Running Costs website. Usage times were set on average to 4 months of heating, and 2 months of cooling based on 7 hours a day. Actual running costs are affected by many factors including climate and insulation; this data should only be used as a guide and does not guarantee your individual running costs will reflect these results.
Tips For Using A Ducted Air Conditioning System
We want you to get the most out of your system, so follow some of our simple tips.
- Best Tip! Set the thermostat between 24C and 26C for cooling. Every degree lower in summer will increase the running costs by around 10%.
- Use the economy setting if your ducted refrigerated has one and regularly service your air conditioner.Keep the sun’s heat out by closing curtains and external blinds during the day. Close windows and doors to areas being cooled when the split system is running.
- When the ducted refrigerated system is switched off and its cooler outside, open doors and windows to let the cool air in.
- Insulate your home to keep the heat out in summer and in during winter.
- Dress to suit the weather conditions.
